Abstract

The 21st century has been characterized by a problem that ranges from an increase in microbial resistance and oncoproliferative diseases to the appearance of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.

The world today is going through a crisis of great proportions. Every 100 years or so, major health challenges can be experienced, destroying many lives. All of this brings great concern regarding the demographic decline of the human species and in turn demands energetic measures from political, health, productive and social structures around the world.
