Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
AI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, among others, do not meet authorship requirements, as they cannot assume responsibility for submitted work since they are not "persons" nor possess legal personality. They also cannot affirm the presence or absence of conflicts of interest or manage license agreements and copyrights.
AI models are currently not designed for critical decision-making or for uses that have material consequences on a person’s livelihood or well-being. This includes scenarios involving healthcare.
HOLCIEN DOES NOT ACCEPT TEXTS, IMAGES, GRAPHS, OR ANY OTHER VISUAL MATERIAL PRODUCED BY AI.
However, authors may use AI tools for translating a manuscript or for data collection and analysis, provided they transparently disclose in the Methods section (or a similar section) details about how the tool was used and which specific tool was employed.
