The history of a country is an invaluable heritage and its study is essential to understand its identity and evolution in various aspects, such as medical sciences. Knowledge of the history of public health, which urges new generations to deepen their understanding and strengthen the sense of national belonging, should also serve to highlight the historical role of women in the field of health in our country. The importance of the role of Cuban women, as an example of dedication, sacrifice, professionalism and capacity, requires an in-depth study of their performance throughout history.
